Inspiration
Smart environments have always been fascinating to us, and the opportunity to work with them was too good to give up
What it does
QBits queries data from occupancy sensors in a building and uses that data to provide graph-based analytics on occupancy and energy consumption
How we built it
We used android studio for the frontend and a Nodejs/Cloudant server on Bluemix for the backend
Challenges we ran into
Setting up the node server was difficult, and querying for JSON in Android studio was quite challenging
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Setting up a functional web server, having an app that looks really good
What we learned
More JavaScript than we ever thought we could know.
What's next for QBits (Lutron Challenge)
We may continue building out the app and attempt to do everything set forth in the challenge
(The try it out URL is for the app but the link below is for the server) https://hub.jazz.net/project/14rcole/QBitsServer/overview
