Inspiration
Projects often fail not because tasks are wrong, but because teams lose clarity.
Inspired by Ackoff & Emery, PURPOSEFUL SYSTEMS turns Jira into a visible, understandable system of behavior.
What it does
- Builds a Systemic AI Timeline of all Jira activity
- Detects burnout risk, overload, context switching, ownership gaps
- Reveals bottlenecks, cascading delays, and purpose drift
- Gives personal hints to contributors and strategic guidance to managers
How we built it
Forge Custom UI + Rovo AI + embeddings + a systems-modeling engine that treats Jira events as time-series signals and extracts systemic patterns.
Challenges
Keeping the timeline readable, grounding AI reasoning in real events, avoiding noise, mapping sociotechnical theory into practical signals.
Accomplishments
A clear view of how the project actually behaves.
The first systemic-intelligence layer for Jira.
What we learned
Teams behave like complex adaptive systems.
AI is useful only when it clarifies purpose.
What's next
OKR alignment, multi-project dashboards, burnout analytics, scenario simulations, Marketplace release.
