In a world where technology increasingly blends with daily life, our team sought to bridge the gap between entertainment and innovation. We observed how prompt engineering could transcend its utility purposes, morphing into a source of joy and creativity. With the integration of text-to-image models and Large Language Models (LLMs) becoming more accessible, our vision was to create an engaging platform that leverages these technologies. Our aim was to transform the often solitary act of AI interaction into a vibrant, competitive, and social experience, making state-of-the-art tech not just accessible but excitingly playable.

Prompt Pumpkin invites players into a realm where creativity knows no bounds. Imagine entering a virtual battleroom, where you and your friends are greeted by an AI mafia boss, ready to challenge your imaginations. Each round, the AI conjures a unique, descriptive prompt - perhaps an item you'd bring to a wizard-themed party or a gadget from a futuristic world. Players then dive into their creative depths, generating images that they believe best embody the prompt. But it's not just about matching the theme; it's about tickling the funny bone, as all participants review the gallery of creations and vote for the most hilarious or ingenious submission. Through six rounds of playful rivalry, participants vie for the title of Prompt Master, turning every game into a crusade of laughter and creativity, proving that saving humanity might just start with a good laugh.

🛠️How we built it🛠️

For the frontend, we opted for a modern stack - ReactJS and NextJS - ensuring a seamless user experience, augmented by the aesthetically pleasing and functional ShadCN UI library, all styled with the flexibility of TailwindCSS. The backend architecture was designed around FastAPI, known for its high performance and ease of use, providing a sturdy backbone for our application. The magic, however, lies in our integration of stable diffusion models and Google AI's Gemini Pro, which are at the heart of our image generation and prompt creation processes. This combination of cutting-edge technologies allowed us to create a smooth, responsive, and engaging platform for our users.

Integrating AI technologies, especially those as complex as the Hugging Face models, was not without its hurdles. The latency in generating responses posed a significant challenge, threatening the fast-paced, dynamic gaming experience we envisioned. Our solution was to anticipate user actions, preloading and caching responses where feasible, and optimizing our API calls for efficiency. This proactive approach allowed us to mitigate delays, ensuring a fluid and responsive gaming environment.
