Inspiration

My inspiration for Project Space Travel was to teach little kids about space travel in order to solve the problem that we don't know much about space.

What it does

Project Space Travel is designed to help teachers inspire children in the Pre-Kindergarten to Kindergarten levels to want to learn about space travel. Children have an interactive activity to participate in. They get to choose their spaceship, spacesuit, pack their own bags, and choose their destination! At the end of their journey, they learn that they were successful in learning more about space.

How I built it

I built this program with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on Visual Studio Code. I used pure JavaScript to build a simple web application that is easy and simple for teachers to use in the classroom and at home! I used code like variable.style.display = "none"` to make the web app easy to use and simple to understand.

Challenges I ran into

One challenge I ran into was creating the drag and drop feature because I have never used that technology before. Another challenge I ran into was the look of the web app. I am not experienced in CSS but this project helped me learn more!

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of how the web app looks because of the new CSS properties I learned! I am also proud of the drag and drop feature because it was very challenging to learn.

What we learned

I learned more about CSS and web application development.

What's next for Project Space Travel

The next thing for Project Space Travel is to develop a mobile application and to develop the design more. Another feature I would like to implement is to make a feature for older students to learn more about space travel.
