Inspiration

Racial and social minority communities are in dire need of support groups, tips, or people to help them get through their social hate trauma. They need places where they can feel welcomed and safe enough to share their stories in a supportive environment with other victims who have been through the same thing. Minority groups who experience hate crimes on the regular need a place with resources and contact info of hotlines for them to choose from. We also need a website that is able to bring recognition to other websites or blogs that cover social hate crimes happening in the world around us. So that the world as a whole can be more aware of these crimes and feel more apt to do something about it, especially when they are faced with personal stories from certain individuals. That's why me and my team made this website called "Project SSH Stop Asian hate" where people can tell their own stories, donate to fund and donation groups, support other marginalized communities, resources and therapy groups for victims of Asian hate crimes, and get tips on how they can start their self journey as a victim towards self love and acceptance." We'll have all this and more easily accessible on our website.

What it does

A single website that amphiphiles voices by broadcasting personal stories and a singular place for all to access ways to help put an end to Asian hate crime.

How I built it

Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges I ran into

Other than not being able to finish completely, the hardest aspect of making this website was designing and styling it. We constantly needed to find our errors, go back and edit it after making adjustments.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The home page and the image slider took the most time, but was the most enjoyable and am the most proud of.

What I learned

More styling aspects of web development using CSS.

What's next for Project SAH
