Building Project Lazarus was a bit of a rollercoaster for our team. As first-time hackers, everything felt fast, chaotic, and exciting—like one of those rides that spins you around but somehow leaves you smiling at the end. Ironically, when we first saw the theme Project Lazarus from Doctor Who, none of us had actually watched the show. That surprise quickly turned into curiosity, and as we researched the concept, the idea of “reviving the old and giving it new life” really resonated with us.
After discussing several ideas, we decided to build Project Lazarus, a platform that revives classic games but transforms them into educational experiences. The name grew on us quickly, and we felt it perfectly captured what we were trying to build.
Throughout the hackathon we divided responsibilities and worked intensely to bring the idea to life. I focused on UI/UX design and building the gaming portal, while my teammates developed the games themselves and integrated the core functionality.
One of the biggest challenges came right at the end when we tried uploading the project to GitHub and discovered that certain file types weren’t supported. That moment was stressful—especially with the clock running out—but we managed to work through it together.
Despite the challenges, the entire experience was incredibly fun and rewarding. As first-time hackers, we learned a lot, collaborated under pressure, and ultimately built something we’re genuinely proud of.
