This was inspired by seeing how such basic tasks such as changing one character or such is a simple but repetitive task. This made me create this in order to speed up common processes such as calculating returns after tax.
The product takes the cost of a product and calculates the returns after a states sales tax.
I built it by coding in vs code
One of the challenges I had was that I gad to learn how to create a dictionary and how to access it. This took most of time researching this. Also, I had several errands this weekend which limited my time for the Hackathon.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of is that I was able to create a working piece of code for my product. While I was unable to create ui or a website for this, I was proud that I was able to figure out how to use a dictionary.
What I learned was that the point of my code was to stop a repetitive task, but in turn I ran into one while making my product, showing there are many potential applications for small products such as this.
What's next for ProfitCalc is to expand to other possible fees a seller might run into, giving them a better and more accurate representation of the margins they have.
