Inspiration

Searching and comparing prices across different online platforms can be tedious and confusing. This app simplifies the process by automating the search and retriving different results across websites

What it does

It retrieves 10 results for products (PS5) from each of the four websites (Amazon, Best Buy, Game Shops, EBay)

How we built it

We built the app using UIPath Studio, which provides automation tools that help us to web scrape and extract data

Challenges we ran into

Although the Studio provides powerful automation tools for data extraction, it cannot extract from certain websites and we have to do tailor-made workarounds for those cases.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created an input prompt and separated workflow files to allow extension of the app in the future.

What we learned

That automation processes are crucial to the workflow in society, for example sending automated emails. We also learnt how to use UI Path and the importance of minimizing the manual work we need to do.

What's next for Product Searcher

The way we have designed our code allows to to easily add more websites and allow more different type of searches. The next step is to refined our searches and make the data more precise. In addition to that, we plan to automize our automation on the cloud and make it run after a certain amount of time making it into an unattended automation.
