Product Knowledge Platform

Inspiration

We wanted to make learning about everyday products as engaging as scrolling through social media—but with real educational value. Instead of endless entertainment reels, our vision is “product reels” that reveal the hidden stories behind supply chains, environmental impacts, health effects, and historical origins. The challenge was to deliver this rich, multimedia experience without the high costs of traditional video production, while keeping it interactive, accessible, and fun.

What it does

The Product Knowledge Platform lets users explore any product through AI-powered analysis, covering its supply chain steps, environmental effects, health impacts, and history. It automatically generates professional images, AI-narrated audio, and compiles them into an interactive video presentation. Users can navigate step-by-step, see progress, and engage with the content like a guided story—all generated in real-time at a fraction of traditional costs.

How we built it

We built the platform with Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui for a modern, responsive UI. Groq LLaMA-4 powers ultra-fast content generation, Google Gemini Imagen creates high-quality images, and OpenAI TTS provides professional narration. A modular media architecture separates text, images, audio, and charts, enabling reuse and multilingual capabilities. Parallel processing ensures images and audio are generated simultaneously for optimal speed, and semantic search indexes all generated content for instant reuse.

Challenges we ran into

• Reducing video generation costs from $15–$45/minute to something scalable.
• Integrating multiple AI models and APIs into one seamless workflow.
• Handling real-time generation and playback without manual triggers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Reduced first-time generation cost to ~$0.10, with $0 for reused segments.
• Built a full-stack, AI-powered media generation pipeline with parallel processing.
