💡 Inspiration

While everyone builds AI tools to increase productivity, we decided to build one that proudly does the opposite.
ProcrastiMate was born from the universal struggle of “I’ll start after one more meme.”
We thought — why fight procrastination when you can embrace it intelligently?

🤖 What It Does

ProcrastiMate helps you:

  • Generate creative excuses for not doing tasks.
  • Activate Fake Focus Mode to pretend you’re working.
  • Receive AI-generated distractions (memes, jokes, useless facts).
  • Get demotivational quotes when you’re feeling too motivated.
  • Compete with friends in the Procrastination Leaderboard.
  • Hit the Emergency Button to instantly avoid productivity.
  • Chat with an AI mentor that gives bad advice only.
  • Track your Fake Productivity Score proudly.

How we built it: With use of typescript and open AI models

🔧 Challenges We Ran Into

Making something stupid yet technically impressive.

Balancing humor with real usability (ironically, we had too much fun coding).

Training AI to generate useless but hilarious text responses.

Preventing users from accidentally becoming productive.

🏆 Accomplishments We’re Proud Of

Actually built a working app that discourages productivity.

Designed a UI that’s both useless and beautiful.

Created an AI model that gives the worst advice possible — by design.

Proved that stupidity can be structured.

📚 What We Learned

Sometimes, creativity shines when you stop taking things seriously.

Humor + AI = surprisingly engaging experience.

You can make a project “dumb” and still have strong engineering behind it.

Productivity tools are overrated (and boring).

🚀 What’s Next

Add Voice Mode where ProcrastiMate yells “Nope!” when you open a work app.

Create a ProcrastiMate Chrome Extension that blocks motivational websites.

Add Multiplayer Procrastination Rooms to procrastinate together.

Integrate Wearable Compatibility (vibrates gently whenever you think about working).
