We have all had big interviews, or have big interviews coming up. We know what it's like to get shaky and nervous, and to stumble over your words in an interview.
What it does
Prep4tech helps drastically reduce that nervous anxiety by pairing you with people from anywhere in the world, at an appropriate skill level, to practice your technical interviewing skills. By practicing with others, you can grow more comfortable thinking on the spot and verbalizing your thought process - two of the most fundamental skills to have in an interview situation.
How we built it
We built Prep4tech in node hosted on AWS. We built real-time code collaboration and video streaming components in react to make the interview process seamless and painless.
Challenges we ran into
Developing a scalable application with realtime video and data streaming proved to be quite the process!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Not only did we finish the goal we set out to achieve, we made a product that our peers can use to become better programmers and communicators.
What we learned
Hackathons are always a great learning experience. This year we learned how to work especially well together as a team, contributing a total of just over 210 commits in 36 hours! Beyond that, we spent a lot of time learning about real time communication, furthered our knowledge of the AWS solution suite, and all of the new features of ES6.
What's next for prep4.tech
We plan to continue polishing prep4tech and adding features over the coming weeks, preparing for a full fledged release by the end of the year to help our peers secure full time positions and internships!
