Inspiration

In quarantine, pranking is one of the few things left that is the same as before. However, up till now, pranking others required us to search for new pranks constantly and keep a tally on who has done what. We designed PrankAid to make this process more efficient.

What it does

PrankAid generates prank suggestions based on the severity you would like. It also has a navigation system implemented that allows for users to see scores for people around them. On top of this, PrankAid has a variety of articles to see additional information of pranking and carrying out pranks.

How we built it

We built PrankAid on angular, and used multiple apis such as one to graph scores and prank frequency and one to allow users to position themselves on a map to see others.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing the navigation api was a struggle, but once we got over that hurdle we were set.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We are happy to have developed a website that we actually plan on using. We know that we can better prank each other and keep proper scores on each other with the help of PrankAid.

What we learned

We learned that teamwork is key in developing a program. Each of us had different strengths in the development aspect and playing to these strengths is key in creating anything.

What's next for PrankAid

We plan on expanding PrankAid to give suggestions for partying or group events too. We also hope to continue expanding our library of pranks and prank articles. We hope to smooth out the account creation and user statistics systems in order to make PrankAid a more trustworthy site. We might even include some pranks on the site itself to prank new users…..
