Inspiration
Tired of eating the same food again and again? that's what we faced. Being a foodie, you would have seen different recipes on the internet but always wondered how to get a taste of them. So, why not have a place where we can give our taste buds some different flavors. After all, ' Food is the ingredient that binds us together'. With this thought in mind, we built this Potluck platform where foodies can get access to delicious and authentic home-cooked meals + the added benefit of networking with amazing people
What it does
A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared. Other names for a "potluck" include potluck dinner, pitch-in, shared lunch, spread, faith supper, carry-in dinner, covered-dish-supper, fuddle, Jacob's Join, and fellowship meal.
This Potluck platform helps you to create and organize potlucks or any other group events where everyone has certain things assigned to bring to the event.
Organizing a potluck? We make it easy to include a handy Potluck List for your party guests when you send online invitations! Let your guests write in their contribution, or specify what you’d like each person to bring. Don't have ideas what to get made? Leave that to us, we auto-generate the finest random dishes for you and your attendees to prepare and bring!
Events? Whether a small gathering or a massive shindig, rest easy knowing you won't end up with 10 bags of chips and no dip.

FOODIES - Hungry people who are looking for a delicious home cooked meal
CHEFS - Home chefs with kitchens and a passion for food and cooking
Convenience: As a Foodie, you will be exposed to a diverse array of home cooked menu items in your neighbourhood. For the Chef, we provide the platform for you to upload your menu, receive orders, communicate with foodies, handle payment, and receive raving reviews.
Exposure: As a Foodie, you will be exposed to a new food dining experience that is a great alternative to fast food or overpriced restaurant food. For chefs, we will use our social media and community resources to help you get orders. So you can focus on cooking delicious food.
Community: We are building an interactive community which will include community events to highlight our Chefs and provide Foodies with an opportunity to see who has the best food in the neighbourhood.
How we built it
We built it with ReactJS, Autho0: Authentication, Google Map API: Live Map, Twilio: Calls and Messages, and Firebase: Database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a platform whose first and only focus is creating PotLucks and sharing the love! What's more? We built this entire project from scratch in 6 hours due to various time constraints.
