Inspiration
Previous experiences with the stock market and seeing it every day.
What it does
It facilitates information by letting you choose your own preference criteria. It combines numerical data with NLP sentiment analysis on up-to-date stock news.
How we built it
Data scraping was done through Yahoo Finance and BeautifulSoup. Backend was designed with FastAPI and several python scripts. Frontend was completed in React and Vite.
Challenges we ran into
Coming up with the idea was challenging in of itself. We ran into issues with API timeouts, backend-frontend data coherence, LLM implementation, etc.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
THE LOGO!!! Getting the most critical parts of the frontend working, finalizing POST requests, merging all the data together, etc.
What we learned
To stay away from AI. Life can be infinitely easier that way.
