Inspiration
We wanted to create something that would be easy to use by children because children are the future of our planet and it's health. We also wanted to create something that would be both fun and cute so that kids (age 6-11) would be more interested in using it.
What it does
It teaches children how to take care of the environment around them and gives them an easy way to learn about animals.
How we built it
We built it using Canva for a starting prototype, then created 2 coded models, one using html and CSS, the other using Racket before we merged them together into one final coded model.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of bug issues to fix and we also struggled with connecting the graphics we had pre-designed with the code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Although it took a while, we feel that our graphic design is very good and we're proud that managed to fix the issues we had with it.
What we learned
We learned that breaks are just as important as the work time, you will develop a headache from looking at the computer for too long.
What's next for Pocket Paws-1A
We will try to complete everything that we planned for in our initial prototype, then hopefully publish it online. We will also try and create a model that can be used on phones and other smaller mobile devices.
