Inspiration
What it does
Our plotter creates a sketch of any picture that is taken through the miniature camera attached. This can all be activated through the touch of a button on your phone.
How we built it
We used two ESP32 microcontrollers to first take and then send a picture to our plotting machine to process. After the image is processed, a series of coordinates is generated from the picture to give the motor driver the correct movement instructions. The plotter then begins connecting those coordinates to create a sketch.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge that we ran into was using one ESP32 to take our picture and immediately sending it to the second ESP32. Another issue that we faced was our motors messing up the coordinates at random times and missing the targets.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to successfully design the mechanical aspect of the plotter. We were also able to process an image into a sketch to be read correctly.
