PlantPurify

Inspiration

My inspiration was through my own work in the outdoors. After we built our first raised bed and sowed the first seeds, we noticed an abundance of plants that seemed normal at first but were actually not crops. From there, I made it my mission to create a tool that could differentiate between a weed and a plant.

What it does

PlantPurify takes in images and uses a specialized REST API hosted on AWS that is based on a TensorFlow Lite Model trained with various images.

How we built it

We built this in Flutter and the backend was made using python.

Challenges we ran into

There were many bugs and troubleshooting errors along the way. This made it difficult at times to keep up with the time, but it worked out in the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I used certain tools that I had never thought would be feasible over the course of this challenge. I am happy that I exited my comfort zone and attempted to use many tools that I had little prior knowledge on.
