Inspiration
-patients can experience bothersome side effects while on contraceptive medications
-there are many contraceptive pill options available in BC, which can make it challenging for clinicians to quickly find an alternative that can alleviate side effects
What it does
-upon clinician input of patient’s side effect complaint and current contraceptive medication, the app will suggest an alternative contraceptive medication that could mitigate the side effect and is fully covered in BC
How we built it
-HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Figma
Challenges we ran into
-UI was difficult to implement, because we were learning on the spot
-most of us had never used React before, which made our progress slower
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-we successfully created a web app with a real-world application that could improve patient quality of care, alleviate clinician time constraints, and enhance accessibility to care
-we successfully created a multi-page web app
What we learned
-we became familiarized with React
-we gained familiarity with UI and Figma
What's next for Plan A
-potential new features: link the app to medication suppliers so only medications that are currently available to order are suggested, link the app to pharmacy inventory to suggest only medications that are currently in stock for patient convenience
