Inspiration
Imagine if you were an athlete at any level, but you couldn't train or practice. Only games. How good would you think you'd be? How difficult would it be to perform during high-stakes games?
This is the reality for salespeople around the world, especially for partnerships reps for sports teams. Without effective and inadequate practice, 79% of sales pitches fail. The sports partnerships industry is uniquely challenging, with 20-80% of untapped potential sponsorships with unrealized benefits and inefficient sponsorship processes. We want to build a system to give your reps more training reps!
What it does
We built PitchPoint, a tool that generates real-time mock sales, partnerships, and brand deal calls. It gives you realistic practice catered around the person you're talking to, so you can train and prepare yourself before the real deal.
Compared to other market alternatives, we uniquely dynamically generate the persona based on available market research on your prospect company.
How we built it
We built our frontend with NextJS, ReactJS, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, and HTML/CSS. We used Auth0 for authentication, and built our backend with Flask and Python. For the voice functionality, we used Cohere to generate the conversation, ElevenLabs for the voice functionality, Socket.io for the Websocket connection, and Gemini to generate the calling persona.
Challenges we ran into
- Defining our niche target market, and capturing a segment where we can be a top player
- Connecting our frontend and backend technologies together
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Deploying the product for users to use live!
- Getting 150+ users in 24 hours with strategic outreach
- Learning how to build a startup for the first time
What we learned
- How to launch a startup and position ourselves uniquely in the market
- How to build a full-stack web app and deploy it
- How to edit launch videos
- Containerizing hackathon projects works pre well!
What's next for PitchPoint
- Implementing our strategy based on our freemium model
