Inspiration
Most teenagers and young adults struggle to spend their money responsibly so we wanted to create PiggyPal in order to help teach people how to save and invest their money.
What it does
PiggyPal uses real time user bank info, in order to create a strategic saving plan thats personalized for each user.
How we built it
By using HTML/CSS to create the website and python/flask to create the back-end we created an ultra-powerful AI powered website that can analyze all user info. The ai is powered by Gemini 1.5 pro.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we ran into was how to utilize API keys, whether to get user data from banks or to incorporate AI into our code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
An Accomplishment we are proud of is our ability to incorporate AI into our code. While we initial struggled we were eventually able to create a gemini based AI that could perfectly scan user data.
What we learned
We learned how to properly utilize API keys in any scenario, whether its grabbing user data from third party websites, integrating AI, or even creating our own API keys so users can analyze their own stats.
What's next for PiggyPal
In the future we hope to expend PiggyPal by turning it into an app, so that user can play and learn anywhere at anytime. One thing that we are really looking forward to incorporating is a virtual stock market simulator so that users can learn not only how to preserve their wealth but also increase it. Alongside the game we would also hope to introduce a new educational AI that would help teach users how to predict trends, and make responsible trades. Our goal is to turn PiggyPal into a one stop shop for all things financial literacy.
