Inspiration:

Our inspiration for this app was the thought of students that couldn't write as fast or students with disabilities that caused them nor to see clearly.

What it does:

This app takes a picture of some writing, maybe a whiteboard of notes, and translates it into actual text that you can read clearly

How I built it:

using react native and elements we were able to build the front end which consisted of our logo, a page that allowed you to "choose from photos" or "take a photo". The way the photo was translated was with the use of Google's vision API. The data was stored in Firebase

Challenges I ran into:

Some challenges we faced were attempting to learn JavaScript and just making sure it did not crash.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of:

We were proud that this app was able to work and produce an output even through the challenges.

What I learned:

The process of building an app.

What's next for PictoType:

Next, we want to implement a tool that allows you to save the document to your google drive for later instead of just printing onto the screen because we want to ensure that using this app it will save all your notes to documents so there are no worries of that "what happened to my notes"
