Inspiration

Imagine having a pickle instead of a nose. Really. Take a moment. Just picture that. Now picture your friend, spouse, or granny with a pickle for a nose. Sometimes those feelings can't be translated into words. Why do we never see a pickle with a Christmas Bell on it in everyday life, just living its best life? It's a pretty sad existence, not only for the pickle but for the bell, and especially for a person who happens to have a pickle for a nose. So we decided to cheer them up.

What it does

It replaces an unsuspecting individual's nose with a pickle that will swing in complete physics with a precious Christmas bell adornment.

How we built it

Coco Magnusson conceptualized, modelled and textured the pickle, bow and bell and rigged it, and Cibelle C. Bastos piloted Lens Studio to erase the noses and get it all to work.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out the exact pickle swing we wanted to achieve by adding bones, removing bones, and playing with force until it felt lifelike as a wet swingy pickle.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The pickle swings :)

What we learned

We learned how to use rigged objects in Lens and use the physics capabilities.

What's next for PickleBells

To continuously swing off people's faces across all seasons and holidays. Stay put for PickleBell, Easter - The Return.
