Inspiration
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the fast-paced world of e-commerce has taken the acceleration of selling pharmaceuticals online to the next level.
Though 60% of pharmaceutical brands have seen an increase of revenue from their online business, they also have suffered an increase of 67% in online counterfeits as a result. WHO estimates that counterfeit medicines worth 89 billion USD are traded annually.
What it does
Pharma's League uses Affinidi's verifiable credentials to build a unified and trusted marketplace to combat the massive online trade in counterfeit pharmaceuticals.

The challenge was non-technical in nature, as we sought to understand the business flow for our drug marketplace

Unpacking a section of Affinidi's SSI VC API and customising the VC in our context.
What we learned
Became more socially aware of the issue of counterfeit drugs. Technically, unpacked a portion of Affinidi's API and become more knoweledgeable about SSIs.
What's next for Pharma's League
Secure funding, onboard resellers/issuers and build the actual marketplace platform(only the verification flow is done). Refactor VC schema into NatIDNumCredentialOrganizationV1, which is more suitable in our project context.
