Inspiration

After taking business classes, we gained insight into the pivotal role small businesses play in our economy. We also recognized the harsh realities that accompany owning a small business. Systemic inequalities deeply entrenched in our economy disproportionately affect businesses owned by Black and people of color, resulting in additional hurdles due to a lack of accessible resources. One of our team members grew up witnessing firsthand the hard work and struggles her uncle faced while running a small business. Motivated by this experience, we sought to develop a tool to assist businesses in expanding and thriving within our competitive market.

What it does

Our solution harnesses the power of AI algorithms to analyze the information provided by entrepreneurs about their business or concept. These AI algorithms are specifically tailored to conduct a comprehensive SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats), enabling a deep and nuanced understanding of the business landscape. Through advanced data processing and pattern recognition, our AI algorithms provide valuable insights that assist entrepreneurs in making informed decisions to strategically navigate their business environment.

How we built it

We created a platform proposal through Canva, providing a simulated demonstration of how the platform would function once developed.

Challenges we ran into

Our primary challenge revolved around devising a solution to our identified problem, which consumed a significant amount of time. We also encountered difficulties in designing an interface that would be both visually appealing and user-friendly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud in our journey. This being our first hackathon we were nervous to begin with but eventually we gained confidence, were able to connect with each other better, create a presentation we are proud in, and most importantly we had fun!

What we learned

We learned more about the powerfulness of SWOT analysis's and it inspired us to do a personal one AND one for our presentation so we can understand our strengths and weaknesses. We also deepened our understanding of data protection measures, distinguishing between public and symmetric encryption. Lastly we advances our Canva skills and learned various new ways to up our presentations one being learning how to create a circular cut out of an image.

What's next for PathwAIs

We want to keep this idea going! We truly believe this is a beneficial tool for companies. As of now we are both in a CS 211 class and have minimal coding skills. As we excel in our coding skills we want to expand on PathwAIs and one day hopefully create an actual platform for small businesses to be able to use.
