Inspiration

I had some troubles registering for my classes for next semester (time conflicts) and was funnily enough inspired by that event to make this web app. I also know a lot of people who would actually let ChatGPT make their study plan and semester plan.

What it does

PathFinder is an AI-powered system that generates a personalized, step-by-step roadmap for any student goal. I wanted this app to be a sort of "living schedule" that students can use to keep track of their career path during their time at Lehigh.

How we built it

I got the general template from another hackathon that I did previously and used Google AI Studio for the rest of the build.

Challenges we ran into

Google AI Studio isn't good at keeping track of the project files and I did have to restart several times because the project files kept getting deleted or lost.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of this little web app that I made and how it uses prompt engineering to function.

What we learned

Constantly save your files or else Google AI Studio will delete all of it.

What's next for PathFinder

This is just a very limited prototype right now that does not have the best performance in the world. I am planning to refactor the code in the future and add new features, as college life and student success is a pretty extensive topic that can lead to many innovations and new ideas.
