Inspiration

We were inspired by the education and social impact. Helping high-school students find their path in life.This includes helping students to learn of the different career paths available to them. Also helping counselors build profiles on students that keeps track of all the students relevant information to assist in college matching, and scholarship matching.

What it does

Our platform is designed to help high school students and their counselors form plans for their futures using student profiles and other information to match them to career paths, colleges, and scholarships.

How we built it

We built our project using a MERN tech stack and the Gemini API for analysis alongside Snowflake for recording time-series AI metrics

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into included finding ways to optimally implement both Snowflake and MongoDB, as both database systems have different niches we wanted to take advantage of.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a responsive UI and website that is usable for both students and counselors to connect them so that counselors can assist students in planning their future.

What we learned

We learned how to build an accessible and responsive UI that integrates AI and machine learning to give personalized recommendations for students and counselors based on the students profile.

What's next for PathFinder

We plan to extend our counselor resources to college counselors and help college students know what careers their majors lead to and plan their financial situations. We also plan to deploy and add more ways to help students.
