Inspiration
We were inspired by the Papa Louie franchise.
What it does
This app is a short, fun game that allows you to take orders from real redditors and try to beat their highest scores. Each post has a leaderboard for you to do each other's runs or post your own!
How we built it
We used Canva for the graphics and Devvit for the code. This was written using Typescript.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges in this project, especially since using the Devvit tool was so new to us. We weren't sure where to start as there weren't many resources as to how big our graphics should be and figuring out the limits of the Devvit tool. We had to play around with graphic sizes since it would appear different on different devices. Towards the end we experienced many bugs that we had to navigate but we perservered to submit the best result we could.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were very proud of getting the basic game mechanics down. We were finally able to make orders for customers towards the very end because we spent a lot of time compiling all the graphics.
What we learned
We learned how to use the Devvit tool and how to create a game on the Reddit platform.
What's next for Pasta Panic
We hope to fix some of the bugs that the game has and add some features we wanted to implement but ran out of time for, but overall we're very proud of where the game is at.
