Inspiration
Building a robot with over 700 components for the FIRST Robotics Competition inspired us to create an efficient system to manage complexity, improve collaboration, and stay on schedule.
What it does
Parts Pilot is a centralized platform that tracks robot progress, assigns components to team members based on expertise, and organizes inventory, reducing inefficiencies and delays.
How we built it
We designed Parts Pilot using JavaScript and Python with a Flask library for backend and frontend functionality. The system integrates real-time updates, a user-friendly UI, and a robust inventory database using SQL.
Challenges we ran into
Coordinating data from multiple sources and ensuring the platform’s scalability for large robotics projects were our main hurdles, along with refining the user interface for clarity.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a functional platform that eliminated redundant processes, enhanced teamwork efficiency, and ensured smooth robot assembly workflows during testing.
What we learned
We gained insights into effective project management, and the importance of clear communication in team tools, and advanced our technical skills in developing interactive platforms.
What's next for PartsPilot
After presenting it to our mentor, we plan to refine Parts Pilot, add mobile integration for easy accessibility, and expand its use to other teams.
