Inspiration

Trying to find a parking spot in dense urban areas is often painful, especially when between apointments. When in a car with a friend, trying to find a parking spot when headed to a restaurant, he jokingly asked me if I could remove a DriveNow car for him to free-up a spot.

What it does

Park Swap addresses the issue of parking spot availability in cities - when it counts. Via app the customer can request a parking spot which is then reserved and opened-up, via a Deliveroo-like agent, once the customer arrives at the destination.

How we built it

Park Swap is a web-based application, built with NodeJS and Angular 6, hosted on the Google Cloud Platform.

Challenges we ran into

Last-Minute Server Deployments.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Implemented the Car2Go and the Google Maps API.

What I learned

Trying to create and deploy a docker container to Google Cloud 30 minutes before the demo is not a good idea.

What's next for Park Swap

MVP-Test in pilot city Munich in order to test further hypothesises. One Swap Agent in one specific area on the weekend.
