Inspiration
We were inspired to build a mock-up of Cashapp to help users easily send and request money to one-another.
What it does
P2P App
How we built it
Wireframes were built using Figma.
Application was built using TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Next.JS, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB & its MongoDB API, and deployed using Vercel.
Challenges we ran into
While developing, the developer ran into a lot of feature-creep and had to freeze development before solving them. Additionally, implementing a new coding language and database into the stack slowed down development of the project.
An error that came up with Next.JS's API routes and MongoDB was the constant rebuilding of Mongoose Schemas which caused errors when accessing multiple pages which required user data, slowing down development.
While routing works in the local version, serverside routing does not work in the deployed version.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We ventured out and strengthened our skills in our respective areas! Jada:
I was proud that as a first project I was able to compete it in a timely manner while working with a team!
Dainyl:
This was my first time venturing into TypeScript and using Microsoft Azure! It's also been a few months since I've used MongoDB and re-familiarizing myself with its structure (or lack thereof) for Cosmos DB was fun. I've also never done a mobile-only design before, but Jada's designs helped me out a lot.
What's next for P2P App
Further development and refining of the application!
