Australians are among the heaviest social media users in the world — averaging 2 hours per day, with some spending over 38 hours/month on TikTok alone. Yet despite this constant engagement, 65% of university students say their feed feels repetitive, predictable, and algorithmically narrow.
Social media doesn’t just show user what they want to see — it shows them what it wants them to see. Users are stuck in content loops, unaware of how to break out.
Our solution ? FeedFreak It is an app that helps you to diversify your contents effortlessly and regain control over what they consume.
How FeedFreak works?
FeedFreak empowers users to personalize their social media experience through smart, built-in controls.
- Goals: set weekly targets for how much diverse content you want to engage with.
- Notification style: choose how you want to be nudged — subtle popup, vibration + popup, or summary-only alerts.
- PopUp interval: customize how often reminders appear while using social media.
- Feed recommendation: select the types of content you’d like to see more of — from art and animals to comedy and culture.
Once preferences are set, FeedFreak runs automatically in the background when you open a social media app. A progress bar popup appears, showing your current progress toward your weekly goal. If prolonged doom scrolling is detected, FeedFreak gently prompts you to take action — based on your chosen settings.
When you exit the app, FeedFreak displays a personalized summary of your session.
