Inspiration: Inspired by Dolph C. Volker, animal advocate with Zoology degree, who shows the more personal side of wild animals which is often forgotten when these species are hunted and exploited.
What it does: Creates a interactive platform for people to donate to organizations that are advocates for saving endangered species.
How we built it: We used HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Node.js.
Challenges we ran into: Initially ran into challenges when we were coming up ideas because we were restricted to e-payments between businesses and customers. Also ran into challenges with accessing and utilizing the Fiserv API.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We made something that we are passionate about and are interested in being a part of in our adult lives. We would like to incorporate our love of animals with our passion for technology in a positive and meaningful way.
What we learned: Learned about e-payments and APIs that are used for e-payment technology.
What's next for OtterSpace: Improvements in UI, and put more focus on developing the website into a more educational platform to spread awareness about endangered species.
