Oregon's Occupational Explorer is a simple, easy to use tool that allows the user to find and explore occupations by choose criteria for exploring occupations in a combination of 12 different occupational fields and 16 different geographies around Oregon. Once the user has selected an occupational field and geography, they can then select a single or multiple wage range, educational attainment requirement, and projected 10-Year growth factor. They may then sort the results by which ever factor they deem most important such as wages or growth. The returned report shows a list of those occupations meeting the criteria selected by the user. The table includes estimated 2008 employment, projected 10-Year growth, typical educational requirements, annual average salary for the occupation, whether there are current job openings for that occupation, and the number of projected annual openings both from growth and replacement. The report contains links to the Occupational Information Center, should the user desire more information about a particular occupation, and direct links to current openings for an occupation. The information in the report is a combination of OES wage survey data, 10 -Year projection data, information from Oregon's IPED system, and information from Oregon's job match/referral system iMatchSkills.
