Inspiration

We were inspired by the fragmentation in the crypto ecosystem - users need a dozen different platforms to manage their Bitcoin effectively. We envisioned a unified solution where every Bitcoin function lives in one secure, user-friendly interface.

What it does

ORCA unifies Bitcoin's entire ecosystem in one platform - wallet management, staking, trading, bill payments, Lightning Network integration, and AI model training. Users can leverage their Bitcoin for everyday transactions, investments, and participate in decentralized computing without switching between multiple services.

How we built it

React and Tailwind CSS. Bitcoin for blockchain and backend, and use of Rebar Data and BIP300. We integrated multiple Bitcoin-focused APIs and created a unified interface that maintains security while enhancing usability. Our stack employs Lightning Network protocols for node management and staking functionalities. For AI capabilities, we implemented TensorFlow and PyTorch integration, allowing users to deploy and train models on our distributed Lightning Network nodes. We built custom AI tools using Hugging Face transformers for market analysis and portfolio optimization, with containerized model inference for scalability. Our architecture supports both pre-trained models and custom user-defined neural networks, enabling decentralized machine learning that leverages the computational power of the Lightning Network while maintaining data privacy through federated learning techniques.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating traditional financial services with Bitcoin infrastructure was complex, particularly for bill payments. Developing an intuitive UI that simplified complex blockchain operations without compromising security required multiple iterations. Implementing decentralized AI training nodes while maintaining speed and reliability proved technically challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a unified platform that brings everyday utility to Bitcoin beyond mere trading. Our Lightning Network implementation allows users to become active participants in the ecosystem. The seamless balance between advanced functionality and user-friendly interface makes crypto accessible to non-technical users.

What we learned

Blockchain integration requires a careful balance between decentralization and usability. User education is crucial for adoption. Bitcoin's capabilities extend far beyond traditional perceptions, especially with Layer 2 solutions. Community feedback dramatically improves product direction.

What's next for ORCA

Integration with DeFi protocols, expanded staking options, enhanced AI training capabilities, mobile app development, and governance features allowing community input on platform development. We're also exploring cross-chain compatibility to expand beyond Bitcoin while maintaining our security-first approach.
