Inspiration
The inspiration behind ORACLE is to streamline the scheduling of surgical procedures by leveraging patient information from PDFs to create Google Calendar events automatically.
What it does
ORACLE efficiently allocates operating rooms and estimates case durations by parsing patient data from PDFs and generating Google Calendar schedules.
How we built it
We built ORACLE using Python, PDF parsing libraries, and the Google Calendar API. We integrated data extraction and event creation to automate the scheduling process.
Challenges we ran into
Overcoming the complexity of PDF data extraction, ensuring data accuracy, and seamlessly interfacing with the Google Calendar API were the primary challenges we faced.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of developing a solution that enhances healthcare efficiency and saves valuable time for medical staff through automated scheduling.
What we learned
We learned the intricacies of PDF data extraction, API integration, and the importance of accurate scheduling in the medical field.
What's next for ORACLE (Operation Room Allocation & Case Length Estimation)
Next, we plan to enhance ORACLE with advanced features, such as real-time room availability checks and automated notifications for medical staff and patients.
