Inspiration

Bangladesh is a very big manufacturer of Ready Made Garments. Once, having a discussion with an uncle, talk came up about how hard it is to keep track of all the orders coming in and how clunky it could be to extract information through calls and documents. When brainstorming for ideas at HackED beta, the discussion popped into my mind and the idea of OptimizeAssistant was created

What it does

It receives data from the user and then keeps track of the data i.e. the orders received by the company, it tries to help the manager allocate manpower to a certain order.

How I built it

There were a lot of assumptions made when creating the mathematical model for the whole basis on which the program runs. It was very challenging but I could get a version running although it was very lackluster. My aim was to demonstrate a simple proof of concept that I plan to build an actual product after I increase my knowledge and progress through my degree

Challenges I ran into

My teammates had to leave part way so I was on my own trying to find some kind of solution that was able to vaguely convey my idea

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This being my first hackathon and the limitations of my own knowledge, I am proud that I am able to atleast produce a submission

What I learned

There is a lot that I need to learn in the domain of computers and I gained valuable experience in programming and have obtained an idea that could really help the world

What's next for OptimizeAssistant

This is just the beginning for OptimizeAssistant. I have plans to incorporate an UI, use AI for better predictions and integrate it into a network so that it can be used seamlessly by people in the manufacturing Industry. I believe that this is a real problem that requires attention and I shall take this idea forward and create an actual version that will be used for real
