Inspiration

Perplexity's main strength is that it can find information in real-time which puts it ahead of other providers because things like popular culture and humour move so fast these days. I often find myself not getting jokes that my friends make because I don't have the time to catch onto the most popular movies of the day.

What it does

Uses perplexity API to explain memes and references to movies and tv. You can fall down rabbit-holes by exploring movies related to each other iteratively.

How we built it

Used the grounded LLM to explain stuff.

Challenges we ran into

Took some work to get every API to work nicely with each other.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That it works pretty smoothly with a fresh UI.

What we learned

Experiment ideas straight away and iterate faster now that AI can accelerate the whole process.

Finally understanding what my friends memes mean.
