Inspiration

In the United States of America, there exists an Opiod epidemic. Evidence of opiod abuse started in the 2000s with oxycontin, then grew to morphene and fentanyl abuse in the late 2010s. Because of the rise in the opiod epidemic, death by opiod overdose has grown to over 700,000 people in the years of 1999 to 2017. To combat death by opiod overdose, Opilations was created.

What it does

Opilations analyze collected data sets and provide comparable data to make inferences on client behavior.

Challenges we ran into

Along the way, we ran into many challenges. By far our biggest challenge was our lack of experience in dealing with large data sets for the analysis side. For the solution side, our biggest challenge was the lack of experience in front-end development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we completed our first hackathon.

What we learned

We learned a lot about front-end development as well as web scrapping and working with large, messy data sets.

What's next for Opilations

Understanding data will allow, us to identify potential problems arising in a population. Therefore, the next steps for Opilations is to more efficiently collect & crunch data, generate readable models, as well as scaling nationwide.
