Inspiration
Paradox.ai gives us the inspiration from their challenge about the recruiting jobs. Everyone struggles when it comes to searching for a job since there are so many resources and information to keep track.
What it does
With this app, we aim to provide an easier alternative to search engines. For instance, users may want to explore her or his field and find more relevant careers. The user can ask Opes what sort of criteria he or she is looking for. Opes, with its AI capabilities, aim to provide a curated list of resources in the form of relevant links (linkedin, glassdoor, etc...).
How we built it
My team and I have built the web app using react.js. We use the external tools such as Dialogflow, Google Cloud Platform, Heroku, and MongoDB Atlas, Express. Our main collaboration tool was Git and Github, where we struggled and learned how to manage and work on our project together through branches and commits.
Challenges we ran into
We have some issues with the communication between MongoDB and Heroku, as well as changes in the user interface. Our original challenge was coming up with a creative idea for our team to work on together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of what we have been working hard on since it was a fun collaborative project that we believe has the potential to help others.
What we learned
By using these various tools, we learned a lot of how to connect and make these technologies communicate with each other.
What's next for Opesbot
After this event, we will definitely work on it and improve on our skills. We love to contribute this open source tool to everyone.
