Inspiration

Inspired by fintech leaders like Robinhood and Vanguard, we aimed to empower users with enhanced financial decision-making tools.

What it does

Our platform aids users in making informed finance, trading, and investment choices by offering real-time market quotes, access to international exchanges, analytics, an AI-powered chatbot, and the latest financial news.

How we built it

We developed the front end using React, MUI Components, JSX, CSS, Chart.js, and TradingView widgets. For the backend, we implemented Node, Express, and Supabase. Additionally, we utilized Figma to design the UI and UX, ensuring a user-friendly and visually appealing interface.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered several challenges:

Styling the web pages consistently.
Difficulties in installing and synchronizing frameworks across the team.
Learning and managing git branches led to frequent merge conflicts during integration.
Backend logic implementation was complex and time-consuming.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the hurdles, we successfully built a functional website skeleton. It allows user registration and login, displays up-to-date financial news, tracks stocks in real-time, assists with budget allocation, and integrates a chatbot (unpaid API version).

What's next for Open Invest

Moving forward, we plan to enhance the site's functionality, streamline the backend processes, and possibly incorporate premium features to fully utilize the chatbot services.
