Team 82_OKBoss

Inspiration

We were inspired by dating apps, so to make things more fun we decided to combine advertising ourselves (through job search) with dating apps.

What it does

There is a gap between applicants and recruiters: Applicants not wanting to try to apply, either due to a lack of motivation or having to key in their details again. Therefore, OKBoss allows them to apply for a job with a single swipe. With a quiz that guides the applicants into which career path to specialize in and our algorithm to bring the jobs to the applicant, OKBoss is a platform for recommending jobs/people to the users.

How we built it

Framework: Flask Frontend: JavaScript, HTML, CSS Backend: Python

Challenges we ran into

Everything on its own was fine, however when we integrated everything it ran into many errors. Having spent 8 hours debugging said errors, with only 48 hours to create this web application and 2 people on internship, we decided to skimp on our UI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we used many different algorithms (heap sort, dynamic mapping, etc.) these 48 hours, and that we created a cohesive web application.
