Project Overview

We would like to have a more intentional dating experience (especially long-term dating). Our project was originally wanting to be more open and accessible to all, but we thought starting just with only ASU students would be good given our time restraints. We agree that the dating culture in apps are too hookup oriented and many people have traumatic app experiences, in-person and online.

So we would like to, in the future, set up dating capabilities that serve as a barrier for those who aren’t as emotionally intelligent or knowledgeable about secure relationships. This could be through a test the we create with the input of psychological professionals and integrate staffed psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and therapists that users can chat, phone, or get assessments through with the intention of bettering their mental healths and getting towards more stable attachments or unlearning cognitive distortions.

We have the forum setup that resembles Reddit for following communities and that displays most recents from users’ followed communities. You can add connections that may or may not be romantic based on users’ preferences.

The problems that we are addressing include lack of mental healthcare and support, dating trauma mitigation, and populations who experience lower birth rates and secure attachments due to sociopolitical factors.
