Inspiration

We were stressed at school with the overload of homework and no way to deal with it. So, we decided to take action and create an app that would help us deal with those emotions.

What it does

Oasis is an online journal which helps you keep track of your daily and monthly emotions. It consists of questions that help you organize your thoughts and feelings, a diary to write down everything that happened in your day, motivational/inspirational quotes, and a monthly calendar that helps keep track of how you were feeling each day of the month. The overall goal of this prototype (and, hopefully, later an app) is not only to help the user organize their feelings but to also guide them in the general direction of feeling better.

How we built it

To build this prototype, we used Figma! We wanted to make this app really calming and aesthetic, so people looking at it would be at ease. So, we decided to use a purple, sunset theme that really brought this prototype together. Moreover, we made sure to prototype connections between every button, so, when trying it out, it would seem almost like the real thing.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part of this project were the prototyping connections; as shown in the image attached, there were a lot and it was hard to keep track of all of them. Of course, there were other challenges, such as finding the perfect image for each slide. Also, the name was difficult to come up with.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are most proud of finishing this project and making it look nice!

What we learned

We learned how to use Figma, how to manage our time, how to split up the work efficiently, and how to believe in ourselves!

What's next for Oasis

When we learn how to code, we plan on making this app legitimate instead of just a prototype. Within the app, we would like install an AI chat system or a chat room for people to talk to someone about how they feel; this way, not only the app will them, but users will help each other.
