What it does
The NutShell phone app is divided into two sections: work and relax. But they serve the same purpose of connecting people. In the "work" section an user can post and view study events such as review sessions, study groups, etc. And in the "relax" section an user will be able to post and view fun events that are happening around the area.
How we built it
We built the app for Windows Phone with C#. And we set up a mySQL database with amazonAWS.
Challenges we ran into
We had problem connecting the app directily to the database. We found that windows phone is not able to connecting SQL database. We tried to set up a "middle sever".
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Overcoming many problems that we faced and getting around 1h of sleep total in the Hackathon
What we learned
We learned a lot about databases and server connections with Windows phone applications.
What's next for NutShell
Improving the implementation, creating IOS and Android version and publishing the app on the Apple Store, Google Play, Windows Store.
