Inspiration
As a student who frequents the dining hall, I value the importance of tracking the macros of what I eat. It's hard to keep track of food on campus, and as someone who cooks his own meals in my residence, I find it difficult to integrate what I cook and what I eat at the dining hall or elsewhere.
What it does
This app allows for calories to be tracked and daily caloric intake to be inputted where it would be matched with a recipe with similar macros. This allows for easy meal prepping.
How we built it
Vibe coded the backend, and used React to create a basic UI
Challenges we ran into
React page continually hanging no matter what we did (e.g, debugged code, refreshed cache, inspected console, disabled extensions). I was left with no choice but to upload the React page as is, and accept that the page would be unfunctional.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We had many initial ideas of using arduino while incorporating a frontend and backend. We were only able to implement a somewhat functional frontend for UI and backend.
What we learned
More initial preparation is necessary for a project, and we should delegate tasks based on each person's strengths.
What's next for Nutrimeals
If this project could be restarted, more debugging skills would be necessary to get through the errors of our hanging page.
