Inspiration
We were inspired by peer-to-peer communication networks, and wanted to build something ourselves!
What it does
Users type in messages, and these messages are encoded into sequences of frequencies. When these frequencies are broadcast, other users' devices detect them and automatically decode them into text messages.
How we built it
We built a React-based website which handles playing audio, encoding text messages, and automatically listening for and decoding others' messages.
Challenges we ran into
Noise.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Devised encoding schemes and frequency manipulations that allow for fast transmission even with a loud environment.
