Inspiration

NoteHUB was inspired by a problem every student deals with, missing class notes, unorganized group chats, and inconsistent sources. Whenever someone was absent or needed clearer explanations, finding notes became way harder than it should be. We wanted one reliable place where students could share, access, and organize notes together.

What it does

NoteHub is a shared vault for class notes. Students can upload notes, browse organized folders by class, and quickly find what they need using search and color-coded subjects. It replaces scattered chats with one clean and easy-to-use workspace that helps students study better together.

How we built it

We designed a clean UI focused on simplicity: a sidebar for navigation, a grid of note cards, a search bar, and upload/organize buttons. The note system follows a folder-tree model: Class → Notes We built this layout, and then added other features to make the site more intuitive and engaging for students. Everything is local and was built in VScode, with copilot assisting and making suggestions along the way. It was a streamlined process overall.

Challenges we ran into

  • designing a notes system that works across multiple subjects and levels
  • making the layout responsive and clean
  • managing time while still aiming for polish

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • designing a clean, student-friendly UI
  • building a functional notes vault system
  • solving a real problem students face every day

What we learned

we learned how to break down a large idea into small steps, prototype fast, and communicate clearly as a team. We also learned how important UI clarity is, the fewer clicks and the cleaner design, the more students will actually use the tool.

What's next for NoteHUB

  • search filters for data, class, and keywords
  • smart tags and version history
  • a request button for missing notes
  • login and class-selection system
  • deploy it so that others can actually add notes to it, and a community can be formed.
