Inspiration

Asteroids: Games are constantly evolving to meet higher graphics standards. Gamers today enjoy remasters or remixes of old games with modern graphics. However, modern games are often released with unnecessary bloat, required web services, and microtransactions which take away from the experience of the gameplay.

What it does

3D style of Space Invaders Arcade Game

How we built it

We made all 3D assets in Blender and used the Unity Engine to bring the game to life, implementing a 3D user interface, movement controls, and enemy logic.

Challenges we ran into

Unity's version control presented many setbacks, Unity engine provides useful functionality, but was restrictive in some ways that required work arounds.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a functional 3D Asteroids game with cool assets and an interface

What we learned

How to use Unity's version control, program for modularity and scalability, PBR materials, programmable shaders, using AI prompts, and game optimized 3D modeling.

What's next for

Implementing more features that were made on the interface such as different difficulties, key binds, controls, polishing, and extra mechanics. Adding different game modes, more boss battles, and more complex gameplay.
