Inspiration
Complexity begets complexity. Very few things need precision, others only need a direction. Most new year resolutions yend to fail, because of the potential for them to fail. The rigidity of the resolution often works against your motivation leading to burnout. Instead of setting yourself up to fail, it is wiser to follow a theme: a general gist of what you want progress in. Enter nodaros
What it does
There is never a fixed formula to getting things done, so apart from lending an rpg tinge to your efforts to keep up your theme( by selecting one of the five classes), itincentivises you to keep up with the daily checkboxes by completing quests that relates you further to your class, and allows you to choose your own unique path. Spell an end to your one time flings with to do lists and turn a chronic anachronic, by hacking and slashing your way through the nodes of nodaros: craft your own sub-sub-skilltrees and deepen your kinship with your class, witness the path youve traversed across dreamtime as they correspond to real life progress.
How we built it
We purely built it using html, javascript and css. We also used bootstrap and jquery.
Challenges we ran into
Creating a tree diagram for the classes was the main challenge of this project, we had to do tweak around a lot and in the end we couldn't exactly do what we imagined.
What we learned
What's next for Nidaros
We will add more functionality to Nidaros where the user can comeback to check his progress and try to gamify the process more
