Neurofy

Neurofy was created from a desire to support individuals and families navigating the uncertainties of cognitive decline. Conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s often progress quietly, leaving people unsure of how or when to seek help. We wanted to build something that would offer early awareness and everyday support—a tool not just for detection, but for empowerment. Neurofy is about helping users care for their cognitive health in small, consistent ways, while ensuring they feel supported, connected, and informed throughout their journey. Aging shouldn’t mean helplessness—it should mean living with confidence, clarity, and compassion.

Neurofy is a web-based brain wellness app designed specifically with older adults in mind. Each day, users engage with three interactive brain games that focus on memory, pattern recognition, and recall. Their performance is logged locally, allowing them to track progress over time through a simple visual history chart. The app also includes a wellness tools section, featuring guided breathing exercises and rotating inspirational quotes to support mental calm and clarity. For any questions related to brain health, memory, or healthy aging, users can chat with an integrated AI chatbot powered by Cohere's natural language API—making support just one click away.

We built Neurofy using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure a clean, readable, and highly accessible interface for seniors. All functionality is designed to run locally in the browser without the need for signups, downloads, or complex installations. While we initially planned to build a backend-powered AI model that would generate personalized brain health scores using Flask and Python, we chose to pivot after facing integration challenges and time constraints. Instead, we focused on creating a functional and reliable demo version that offers meaningful features without requiring backend infrastructure or machine learning integration.

One of the biggest challenges we faced was scoping the project realistically. Our original plan involved training a model on mock cognitive performance data and building a dynamic scoring system with backend storage. But we learned that real-world deployment requires reliable data and more testing than our timeline allowed. Refocusing on localStorage-based tracking, simple games, and a lightweight Cohere AI integration helped us deliver a usable, complete product by the deadline.

We’re proud of how Neurofy balances simplicity with usefulness. The design is clear and welcoming, even for users with little tech experience. The games are fun and cognitively engaging, the chatbot adds an interactive and informative touch, and the entire experience centers around daily, consistent mental wellness.

This project taught us that meaningful tech doesn’t have to be complex to be impactful. Especially when designing for older adults, empathy and usability are just as important as functionality. Looking ahead, we hope to build out a full backend, introduce more personalized cognitive exercises, and potentially partner with healthcare professionals to turn Neurofy into a trusted long-term brain health companion.
